A celebration of the solar eclipse with family and friends happened in Dublin, Ohio on April 8, 2024. Up until the day of the event there had been predictions of light to heavy cloud cover with the anticipation that we may not see very much. So happy that the weather forecasters were very wrong. Our view was not obstructed by any clouds with a slight hazing sky. This very emotional, for me, event was much more than expected and being in Dublin allowed for viewing of 100 percent coverage.
Family and friends of my brother came to witness this and the afternoon could not have been any better. It was great to see all of the young folks really involved and enjoyed the view of the sun up close from my sister’s telescope. The image capture of the eclipse itself I left to the more expert photographers so images shown here are those that came to see this. Our thanks to Paul and Laura for being wonderful hosts and maybe we can all gather again for the next one in 2044.
